Whether or not they need more power is up to their art major, but look at the upsides to getting them a mini:
1) Easy to move around. If there's a power source near by, it's more portable than a laptop if paired with an LCD display.
2) They're pretty easy on your wallet. I mean, the G5 Power mac is going for $2400 CAD no monitor included at London Drugs right now. That's a quarter of the price (mini is $629 CAD).
3) Fairly loaded OS. Comes with way more than a Windows box, and it's going to do what they need it to for working and daily life.
In short, that's a great gift idea, and almost anyone would be happy to get it. |
