Understood about *nix and RAID but from by classic_jon 2005-05-03 15:36:25
what I have read, and testing for the ACSP Cert they list a stripe-0 array as a type of RAID even though it is not truely redundant. Semantics I know...;)

I was really thinking you were talking about 10/01 type arrays that do have a form of redundancy. I have had mucho bad luck with Raid-0 arrays.... many bad memories of a 38GB database going belly up because of a bad management decision by the president, that overrode their ACSP RAID person I.E. me... I didn't sleep for almost 2 days getting that fiasco fixed and wrote up a scathing error report for the CEO as to why we lost 10k an hour until I got the array rebuilt and the database fixed with the help of our DBA....
