SATA is nice and has a fast transfer rate but none of the controlers (that I know of!) have a hardware XOR unit or do elevator sorting which are critical for speed in RAID 5 and 50 setups. I need to go look at my ACSP prep-books and make sure of that on the 10 and 01 though ;) Check on Tomshardware.com they have a nice article about SATA RAID controllers and their comparisons to the SCSI equivilant.
