I had to destroy several plugs because some muppet had been pulling the cable to disconnect them. The insulation around the strain relief boot had all but disintegrated, leaving bare copper right by the plug. Plus the design means that it's extremely easy for US plugs to get accidentally disconnected - we had several shows where somebody had to dash out to reconnect the click track headphone amp because the drummer had shifted his seat and pulled the plug.
