- Check bank card is usable and expected to be used on holiday: in progress
- Check batteries and memory card of digicam: done
- Ensure phobile is set up for full roaming: done
- Ensure offline friends know where I'm going to be, thus explaining odd ringing tone and desire not to talk when they call me: done
- Pre-departure beard trim: not done, but planned
