Windows file renaming help please by c51L 2005-05-03 10:56:38
I have a set of files with the form <text><two digit number>.dat where <text> is the same for all files. Because it got more then 99 files despite what we thought when we started, we'd like to rename them to <text>0<two digit number>.dat.

I tried it with rename in the command prompt but couldn't figure out how to do it, especially how to use the wildcards properly.

Doing it by hand can't be the best way ;)
