Allows different coders to set the width of indenting in their own editor, but it won't effect the readability for another user.

Using spaces, you can run into people's differences in coding style. e.g. Person A prefers 2 spaces, person B prefers 8 spaces. If they edit the same file, and use spaces, they'll both be frustrated at the other users style. Using tabs and setting the tab width as they prefer (2 or 8) will not create this problem.
