The constitution is not a document that lists laws. Its more of a skeleton for national government and a declaration of general principles open for interpretation and re-interpretation by the legistlative branch. In short, the constitution in fact says what the Supreme court wants it to say at that moment. So re-interpreting the meaning of words in the modern context is fully within keeping of the spirit of the document! sigh
