A german ``Heimatfilm'', which dict.leo.org translates as ``sentimental film with regional background''. Bavarian Alpes to be precise. The acting is more than wooden, the ``regional dialect'' is fake, the story is, well, repressed. It inspired my long time school-movie-maker-boss to an even worse one, but Die Kinder von der alten Mühle was intended to be serious. I think.
``Plan 9'' was also spectacularly bad (for known reasons), ``The return of the killer tomatoes'' too.
But the only movie I literally regretted so much to have seen it that we had to go and get seriously drunk afterwards was ``Final Phantasy''. Yes, nice rendering, that's why we watched it in the first place. But the story, the lyrics utterances and all that were, ehm... a container of manure, and it was powerful. Even in my deliberately blurred memory I can still feel the pain. Ouch!
Having to watch it thrice in a row would be the right punishment for Emmerich, hehe! |
