Just as there's nothing wrong with distro war threads as long as it's not done day in and day out with several TLPs devoted to dissing others' distros and defending one's own. If a bunch of clothes horses came on the board and starting posting a dozen threads a day about outfits and handbags and shoes with tedious discussions about different designers, that would also get pretty old pretty fast. Think about how aggravated most of the computer geeks here would be if they had to scroll through several pages of unrelated crap like that with no relief for months.
