Some are better than others. Some are average. A few are outstanding.

The novelizations of the movies - the good novelizations, not the versions that stick completely to the script of the movies - are also really good. They have a lot of background content, stuff that was cut out of the movies due to budget/time constraints, and you can get a lot closer to the characters because you can read their thoughts when the story is from their viewpoint.
