Yes, smallest available litter boxes in most of the corners, combined with keeping an eye on them. Mine were fairly well litter-trained.
For the biter, have you tried bitter apple (I got it at PetsMart, I think)? I found that this worked wonders. One of my ferrets one a biter when I first got him (he was also a rescue, from a friend who determined that she just couldn't handle a ferret as a pet). Bitter apple applied to my hands before handling him taught him not to bite. He also got better as he aged, but he would always do the little lick, lick, lick, lick, lick, nip! routine and then dance away chuckling.
I had a cage for the ferrets for when I wasn't home, but when I was around, the ferrets almost always had free run. Mine loved to sleep inside of the duvet cover that is over my comforter on my bed. |
