I don't see why the 'gun crowd' should need to ease off on posting threads about guns. Lots of other vagaries of geekism are allowed to run their course -- look at the amount of gaming threads.

The *problem* threads, IMO, are those that are there just to take at cheap shot at the other side. DR66 has been posting disappointly many recently, in an uncomfortable echo of his pre-election "Republican frothing".
(Conversely, he also tends to post the most interesting non-attacking gun threads, like the Box of Truth.)
