Gun threads by Kickstart 2005-03-22 12:46:24
It seems pretty clear that the following hold true:

- that gun threads are popular here, often posted by the same people on a daily or near-daily basis
- that a large number of people who post here don't appreciate their prevalence, either because of their distaste for the topic, or out of boredom over the number of them
- that previous conversations on the topic have resulted in no appreciable change

People are annoyed with the threads. The people posting them don't appear to care. That disturbs me, as it goes against the need for people in this place to get along. The longer the gun threads appear here at this posting-level, the more people will get annoyed and the less enjoyable this place will be. This is not a gun forum, though we've never explicitly banned topics from discussion here and I don't want that to happen.

So...I ask the people posting the gun-related threads: Please ease off, because if you don't I will have to take more serious action.

Feel free to discuss below, though I am not going to wade into the discussion. I feel like utter crap and don't have the energy for it. I will read the posts however.
