I would think that it would become a better place, more friendly towards all people, if the extremists from both sides took a chill pill and just ignored posts they took umbrage to. It is silly to get 'physically ill' or 'filled with rage' because someone posts a message about how they enjoy target shooting or intend to buy a new gun. I have seen people post this sorta stuff before. People need to quit being so damn divisive and try to make the board a BETTER place. They could start by not being so hair-triggerish and letting everything goad them into making intolerant posts that attempt to quash free will and free speech. Free speech does NOT only allow the things YOU agree with.
