In defense of the gun enthusiasts, I must say	by Peace_man	2005-03-22 11:42:03
that living in the US may make it necessary to keep a gun to defend yourself. The apparent lack of ability of the police to keep people safe, combined with the availability of guns seem to make it desirable for many to have a gun to defend themselves. Of course, it could be taken as an incentive to get better policing:-) But at least it is an explanation why guns are so fascinating to Americans. Personally, I welcome the diversity that is the UFieverse - including the gun threads. I am able to simply skip over them - thankfully they are usually clearly marked as for content, and I really appreciate that thoughtfulness. If you want different content, I would welcome your non-gun contributions.
