...and the point isn't expressly about the guns.
The argument: "A is okay, so why isn't B?" isn't always sufficient justification for B. People draw lines in sometimes arbitrary places relative to other peoples' sensibilities.
For what it's worth, I'm not big on the gun posts either. I respect them as interesting articles of engineering, but I don't have an appreciation for them in and of themselves, beyond that, and don't see the appeal of collecting them. Too dark for my tastes.
But I play games along the FPS line... even cheekier darker stuff like GTA. My line that it's 'not real, and just a harmless fun toy' relative to my slight distaste for real guns is my own arbitrary line.
