And I note that the gun afficionados here are on the rise. I find this not only annoying, but a reason to stay away.
However, I don't subscribe to chrisP's slippery slope views. What I do believe is that guns are serious, grim, ugly business, best kept strictly to peace officers.
Until I was 35 years old I NEVER saw a handgun in the hands of anyone in real life. TV, obviously. The police officers I've encountered have NEVER pulled their weapons.
I saw one in the hands of a 18 year old male in a parking garage. I called the police. They surrounded the lot. It was a prop gun for a "local band's amateur video shoot".
By the way, I live in Vancouver. Here in Canada, its illegal to transport handguns or replicas without a permit.
