'give them Al', could you put in a 'slave surcharge' of 35%? JUST KIDDING! :-) But yes, I think you should be putting in a surcharge of 15-25% for 'short notice contract'. The wording should be as polite as you feel like being to this customer. An alternative would be to give them someone not as qualified at Al's price - or are the qualifications nailed down pretty tight?
