I know more a little more about this guy having friends who have lived near there(I am in Edmonton). From what I hear this guy was WELL known to police. He apparently molessted some children years ago. Now while on a emotional level I TOTALLY agree with you, I have to accept that the justice system does it's best, and while it is there to punish the criminals (not really but I am not going to go into that) but also to protect the innocent from procecution. The laws and courts of this country are founded on a very simple principle. "It is better that a hundred guilty men go free, then one innocent man be convicted of a crime he did not commit." It is very easy to call for more and tighter laws, until you are that one man. It isn't like the innocent spending YEARS in jail is unheard of in Canada, David Millgar anyone?
