Why? Many of the town's cops live there! And a prison guard or two. You see a police cruiser in about every third driveway, and the odd pro-gun bumper sticker on the cars that aren't. The only crime to happen in the nearly 20 years they've been there was someone's boat being stolen, and it was strongly suspected that it was insurance fraud. It is a very nice neighborhood, target-rich for burglars. There is a prison a couple miles down the road, and a trailer park across the highway. But nobody is crazy enough to try anything in the neighborhood where I grew up. It can be argued that my old neighborhood was a crimeless utopia BECAUSE there were a significant number of guns.
