over here, pupils are "subject to obliged learning" up till the age of 18. After the 18th birthday, they cal -legally- stop "learning" and -as for formal learning in schools- not too few do so.
And even those who don't "stop", WILL soon start "forgetting" these life-savers of mathematics ;-)
But then, I met too many people who did "university level schooling" just to ... forget most of their "basics" after only 5 or 10 years.
I never understood that, as I happened to remember my "basics" and "structures" from math, physics, well most of what I learned.
Still I have a VERY bad memory for "factual" stuff, for lists of words, dates, names, did I mention dates? (PHUN how that's double-valued in english)
