wants to do
Trained and Armed the teachers. Attacks on schools stopped.
Think about it; take volunteer teachers and send them through lethal force training and firearms retention at the Police Academy, LFI, Thunder Ranch, or Gunsite. Set very stringent rules on how they will carry their firearms while on school property. Only the armed teachers and school administrator know who is approved to carry a firearm. (Bonus; they all participate in reactionary exercises to deal with potential threats) Instead of having to wait for Police and SWAT to arrive you have armed and trained people on site, who are intimately familiar with the area already and hopefully practiced in working together in dealing with such threats. Reaction time would be in seconds, rather 5, 10, 30 minutes or (in the case of Columbine) hours.
Such training would also be advantageous for other reasons. Do a google for Butchers of Beslan. The outcome may have been different had the terrorists not had a bunch of disarmed victims to target. |
