Currently they have tried fingerprint recognition, but that doesn't always work when mud, water, dirt, and blood are involved. Then they tried an RF bracelet, jammers were available on the internet within a week.

There is a fairly reliable system involving magnetic rings for revolvers, but it has serious drawbacks as well. Like being strong enough to seriously mess up computers, video tapes etc. All essential items in Law Enforcement. I do know of several folks that have used this type of gun as a nightstand piece when they had small children running around the house. However that was before storage devices like GunVault became available.

If your going to use a gun to defend yours and other's lives you have to have confidence that it will go bang when you need it. Otherwise it's as worthless as an axe with a loose head.
