Micheal Schavo did not make the decision. The decision was made by a court almost 10 years ago based on testimony by Micheal, Terri's freinds, her parents, and several medical experts.
The court determined, one - chance of recovery was incredibly slim bordering on miracle from on-high - and given that, Terri (based on tesitmony by those who knew her) would NOT want to be on life support.
the court is required to side on the side of life where there is any significant doubt. They did not find doubt, either in the posibility of recover, or what her wishes would be.
