Sounds like you are already there! I wish I could give you more, or better advice, but I am afraid that I am pretty much totally ignorant when it comes to the tech industry outside of Canada and to some extent the US. I do know that here a post secondary education is not nessisary and sometimes a hiderance in the tech feild ( or does anyone REALLY want to pull out that MCSE?? MS certs aren't something *I* admit to!). When you go for a job interview there is almost always some kind of test that will determine if you get the job far more than your resume and education will. Just keep in mind that help desk jobs are EXTREAMLY high turn over. Some call centres only get on average three months out of their workers. Some, treat their workers very poorly. Talk to others in the tech community where you work to find out the good ones from the bad.

Good luck, and stay AWAY from Convergys! If you have them there, it is NOT an outfit you want to work for =).
