I guess i kind of read that a little differently but you made several points far better than I ever could have. That one about having plan a, b, and c having gone wrong for instance. Having the luxury of finding your gun, drawing it, taking off the safty, chambering a round, aiming and firing isn't ussual when someone is comming at you with a knife. That is unless you keep a loaded unsafe weapon sticking in your belt or in your hand.

And I totally agree with what you said about if you draw a weapon.. if you aim a weapon at someone, the next thing you had better be ready to do is pull the trigger.

The reason I got OUT of the millitary was that I KNOW I could shoot someone. Training comes before thinking.. I just don't think I could live with myself afterwards.
