For most states it died last year. And yes you can use them to hunt deer, but hunting dear is right out. ;-D

FYI I have 20 years experience in the firearms business. Gunsmithing, competitive shooting, dealer, designer (one of my custom pieces is now offered as a production item by a major manufacturer). I've also been a reserve Police Officer and Active Duty Military (Combat Communications 1st Mob) where I had the misfortune to be named a Designated Marksman. I was on my way to joining the Air Force Rifle Team when a major family situation erupted that ultimately led to my leaving the armed services rather than re-enlisting.
