Open source is people building software, Usenet is people reading others posts and offering advice. Wikipedia is a place to look up knowledge. There is no reason for people to go there if they have the knowledge.I can't imagine someone who has take 5 years of uni on a subject would go to wikipedia and spend hours upon hours writing just to share, thats absurd. Most likely you'll get people with a little knowledge, who went there for more, and are adding the little bits they know, and the odd person who is bored that actually knows something who will fix an error here and there.
