I was recee. Took the sinper class because I thought I would be intresting. It was! Tear gas wake ups anyone?
but now you have my curriousity peeked.
You are very right.. but it pays to be prepared. In the end just walking around in an urban environment in combat gear will get you noticed, everytime. You can Ghillie up later and keep it in your bunny pack (Chemical suit backpack.. LOVE those things) for if you need it.
The tripod I am thinking of would be the same as what you would find on a C9. Just a pair of legs that fold down to form a solid base. really nothing very fancy, and as I said, a sand bag, log, peice of rock, anything will work really. Just so long as you are firing from a supported prone position. Although you can take shots from any position.
As for rifles.. I can disasemble a C7 down to parts I can hide in my pants in only a few min. It takes only a very little more time for me to put it all together, so I can think of many many places I can hide it. Canadian's are trained to fully strip the rifle down, not just field strip it. We are also trained on ALL the weapons. My standard infantry training included C7, C9, C6, Light Mortars, .50 cal, Carl G. anti tank, light anti armor rockets and heavy anti armor vehicle mounted wire guided mistles FNs were only used by the rifle team. (this was like 13 years ago so I am having a hard time remmebering all the exact names.. think I have done rather well acctually!) On everything except for the rockets and .50 cal we were trained to do a full strip as well as field strip. |
