There'll be a lot of slides. This is where you'll need to take notes, and ask the professor to make the slides available outside of class so you can look at them again. As for the memory stuff, it isn't nearly as important as you're afraid it is. It won't come down to "Which evangelist is depicted as a lion and which is depicted as an eagle?" It'll come down to concepts, trends, Big Issues. Take a deep breath, and try to enjoy the picture show. :)
