I am not talking about you and I now. I am talking about those who are around us. If you are surounded by people who live in fear all the time and are consumed by it, voilence and unpredicablity will be something, that while you will see comming, you will still have to deal with or avoid.

I would rather live in a place where the situation never comes up at all. that for me, would be a place WITHOUT fear. I don't need to carry a gun because I know that almost noone around me has one eather. I never worry about being shot, because it happens SO rarely here in Canada, that the news reports EVERY murder ANYWHERE in Canada. We have as many murders in ALL of the cournty in a year as a big city like New York will have in a week! As the populations are roughly the same, this is a good example. So why is it SO much more violent in the states? Why when I cross the boarder does my chance of being killed by gunfire rise to the number one casue of death for people my age???

Luckily I have never lived in a place where fear is so all consuming.. but I have been to the states many many times, all over, and I can tell you that there is quite a different "feeling" to being in the states. Perhaps it is that fear that is in the air.. I just don't know. But there has to be some explination as to why Americans kill each other off in such great numbers every year.
