Knives are designed to cut things up. by Feng_Li 2005-03-16 10:16:38
If I practice cutting up chickens to make soup, am I really practicing to carve people up? The skill may be transferable, but that doesn't make my intended purpose in using the tool any more malevolent.

The other problem with the idea of transferable skill as malicious is that most of the skills are not applicable to aggressive combat situations. 99% of what one learns when studying KungFu is not how to go beat people up. Yes, if you swung your fist and connected with someone's head it would hurt them, but that doesn't mean I have any desire to go out and do that.
