Sigh by LeoHyuuga2005-03-16 07:57:43
  {{{LeoHyuuga}}} Hang in there. by Peace_man 2005-03-16 09:38:48
You obviously need a better class of friend.

Personally, I have always made the distinction between acquaintances and friends. Acquiantances are the ones that you observe the 'forms' with - they give you a Christmas card, you give them one. They ask 'how was your day' and you say 'not bad' etc.

Friends are the ones you can speak your mind to without pretense. The ones who will accept you as you are, and forgive you if you accidentally do something to hurt them. (After speaking their mind to you:-))

I have very few friends. It sounds like you have even fewer, and have had to accept acquaintances as friends. They're not.

Finding friends is a tough thing to do - you mostly stumble upon them by accident. And if you don't have any, they can be hard to recognize. I sincerely hope you will find at least one friend - then you will know the difference, and what your acquaintances do won't hurt - you will be able to ignore them properly, or use them for the social purposes that they really are there for.
