Wow.. that sounds great! by pseudonym 2005-03-16 09:02:54
That sounds awsome! But it is the way it is supposed to work here. Guns are illegal here too (Except hunting rifles). Edmonton is a total exception to all the rules.

- I didn't belive that police harrasment existed until I moved here
- I had never been afraid of the police before moving here.
- I had never heard a story about the police beating someone up until I moved here.

I thought these were all things you saw on TV or that occured someplace else. Is there any wonder the Edmonton City police are so against the Cop Watch program.

BTW, the cops here just took SEVEN officers to stake out a bar, on the "tip" that "Someone might drink and drive." Seven officers, for almost the entire night. Those seven officers were also not able to tail their targets.. now the really odd thing here is that the targets were both public figures that had been critical of the police. ONE is head of the police commision, and BOTH took cabs home.

This happens here all the time, but it gets swept under the rug becuase the people investigating the cops.. are the same cops! There is no idependent body to investigate these claims in Edmonton because the poilice association has blocked all attempts to install one.

I can't wait to get out of this city. =P

AFAIK staking out a bar for DUI was "entrapment" by kahuana2005-03-16 09:11:36
