Yeah, I'd throw out that strip as just being suspect. Either try running the microwave directly into an outlet or with a plain ol' extension cord (of suitable rating).
Almost sounds like some kind of loose wire around there, perhaps in behind the outlet where the microwave is. Are all the lights and outlets that went out on that single breaker? Seems very very odd that they would be, unless you're in a very very small space--normally things like that are broken up in different circuits for safety and simplicity of troubleshooting.
Were there any other outlets/lights that were out besides the microwave outlet and the ceiling lights? Would you say that you might have dropped "half" of your power? Were the A/C, stove and/or dryer running at that time? Could be that for some reason you lost a 120 leg, but then it came back--that's a possibility. If that were the case, the 120 you read as coming 'from' the breaker would have been backfeed and not source.
I'm curious. Let me know what gets found out. |
