Is 64bit worth it? by Carciofus2005-03-16 07:48:33
I can tell you here at the office when by merlin 2005-03-16 07:50:53
we moved one of our Test databases from an AIX 4 box running Oracle 8 (both in 32-bit mode) to an AIX 5 box with Oracle 9i (both in 64-bit mode) it ran mucho faster. And that was on slightly worse hardware than the original test box.

Is it worth it for the home consumer? No idea but I imagine it should help a bunch.
