Don't know UK, but EU uses METRIC by sCiSSors 2005-03-16 07:14:00
measurements (almost)everywhere. The last "unit" still in the old sexagesimal form is "time". Seems to have been the Babylonians who invented the "sixty-minute" and "twelve-hour" idea.
But "knots" are definately NOT "continental" units of speed.
Things that FLOAT (ships, balloons, zeppelin, airplane) may use double scales, or knots only, who knows ?

And me too: the brother is "upset", but those poor people who ... got delayed going home, then delayed again having missed connecting "rush hour only" trains.

That would be the case in Belgium: during rush-hour we have (some) extra trains, after rush-hour ... be lucky to have one each hour, and for the little stations every second hour. Or none any more after 20:00
