Debian networking problems :-( by MatthewDBA 2005-03-16 05:20:52
Okay so I finally got Debian installed on the server (it's my first actual server install). Now it's not wanting to communicate with the network. Well, with the gateway, anyways.

It gets the address and the DNS server fine through DHCP (although it can't do name resolution). I can ping loopback, I can ping the NIC itself through the IP address, but I can't ping the gateway or anything outside.

There's even an entry in the routing table listing the gateway. I'm not quite sure what's going on at this point.
