You have to take the chances and be willing to accept the krap with the cash. It looks like it could go either way depending on how the upper eschlon views things. What would it have cost if the dead line had not been met? not just in dollars (euros/pesos etc) but in the reputation of your company? If the B project did not suffer from the personel shuffel then I think that you proberly made the right choice in meeting the clients needs.
