that the mega-lobster was *old*. Freakishly old. Does that bequeath any supernatural powers or somesuch? No.
But... it strikes a chord in many people. Something that has survived so long just seems to *deserve* to continue doing so.
For example... trees. 10 years old? Cut it down. 20, 50, 100? Go ahead. 200, 500, 1000? Okay, now we're getting into some old stuff. A living relic of a different time. Survived blight, drought, fire, etc., etc. It just seems to *deserve* a better fate than being somebody's breadboard.
Those lobsters on the food network.... they're the stupid ones, the lazy ones, and the unlucky ones. They seemingly *deserve* a 212 degree Fahrenheith bath. |
