Don't let the total pile up. I am sure she would rather get it now then later.

Have you completed a Form W-9. She should get one from you so that she can issue you a 1099 at year end. Are you sure she is not trying to pay you under the table? Mis classifying someone and a contractor when they are an employee is not too big a deal (though nasty if she ever gets a DOL audit) but paying under the could get both of you in trouble. I would hate for you to risk your license on it.

You will probably need to make estimated tax payments, plan on at least 15.3% of your earnings (Employers portion and your portion of Social Security and Medicare.)If you don't make over $7,500 you won't have to worry about income tax, but if you do plan on saving another 10% for taxes.
