There are plenty of slimy business owners that pull crap like this. You should go to see him in the company of a couple of scary looking friends and demand cash. (offer to sign a reciept saying you got paid, but get cash.)
If he refuses, go to the police and charge him for writing bad checks. He may be able to weasel out of it if he's protected himself from his corporation.
