both home and pro. I did try uninstalling from safe mode but that didn't help either. Upon rebooting it did the same thing over again. I also know all about the problems with system restore. I was using it as a last resort (which didn't work). Unfortunately, as I don't own the machines, I can't turn it off on them unless they want it off. Also unfortunate, I didn't think to check the event log. I'm also no longer infront of the machines, so I couldn't check now if I wanted to. Sorry.
