I love Comic Sans, but not for emails, letters, web sites, school assignments, or work documents. It's fun on posters and the like, though. Arial's good for web pages and emails... stuff that's going to be read online or otherwise on a computer screen... But for hardcopies, serif fonts are, oddly enough, easier to read. I don't understand why, but it's something I learned while doing usability / user interface theory training back when I was working in professional web site development...
