Which is create filters for each person I know, and then those emails are automatically moved into a certain folder. That way, anything that does show up in my inbox is probably spam. It'd work great for that many emails. Just create the filters and then apply them to the messages. I managed to import and sort several hundred messages one day like this. Of course, this assumes that you are using an email client that is capable of doing all that, which may not be the case.
