assuming you don't want to undeline a whole paragraph;
<p>This is some ordinary text <span style="text-decoration:underline;">and this is underlined</span> and this is not.</p>
For the whole paragraph just use the style in the <p> tag. See DevGuru CSS2 for more info. :o)
