  try this by c3po 2005-03-15 05:21:17
1. get an ldapsearch program (opneldap)
2. issue -->ldapsearch -h <ip> -p 389 -b '' -s sub "(objectclass=*)" namingContexts<-- you should get the bases on which the server listens.
3. issue -->ldapsearch -h <ip> -p 389 -b '<your base>' "(objectclass=*)"<-- you should get all entries below base.
4. to search for one entry: same as above, but instead of objectclass=* e.g. cn=john doe or mail=my@yourcomany.org
