22 hours and counting. by theanomaly2005-03-15 03:06:16
Spent 72 hours walking throught the wilderness by airborneric 2005-03-15 05:04:52
with an M60 and live ammo. Stress Exercise is what it was called. Top it off with less than one meal a day - you got a situation ripe for seeing things (which I did) I kept thinking I saw wolves (patches of snow on the ground and shadows).

THE funniest thing I have ever seen happened on this trip. We stopped at a security check point (late day two) to "rest and eat a bit" during the middle of the day. One of my commrades from the perimeter gets up and walks outside our area (without letting anyone else know - major no-no). I fugure he is going to "use a tree" to relieve himself (which we had a slit trench dug already INSIDE the perimeter - if you don't want to know what it is I completely understand). Anyway, He stands in front of this tree, reaches into his pocket and puts something on the tree - it falls and he repeats three or four times. Then he starts to kick the tree. This is when I inform my group of his actions and go out there to try and figure out what he is doing. I walk up to him and hear him muble something about a coke. I had to smack him to make him come around. When he finally become self aware again - We start laughing our butts of - he thought the tree was a coke machine and was putting money into a slot on the bark to try and get a coke from it. One of the funniest dern things I have ever seen in my life - of course when we told the "platoon" ( not really that size - but as close as I can refer it too) - we would have been compromised if it was real world - because of all the laughing.

The laughing did however pick up our spirits and we completed the mission with high marks :)
