generally cheaper prices than Intel for the same speeds (well, not sure at this very moment, but it's been like that for a while) not to mention better compatibility, look at AMD vs Intel's first forays into 64 bit. Intel chose a proprietary non backward compatible one, AMD chose a nice backwardly compatible one. There is HyperThreading on the Intel side, but that's hardly anything at all, not really much of a speed boost at all as it's all just a fake
